PowerChain introduces a decentralized energy trading model implemented on a private blockchain network. It leverages blockchain technology in order to decentralize energy transactions and allow a local network to create its own energy market, controlled by the network participants. It gives the freedom to energy producers and consumers to make their own energy trading deals and define an energy price that is most convenient to both parties without any intermediates. These goals are achieved using a local Ethereum blockchain network, a smart contract build on top of it and a web based user interface where users can interact with the smart contract and perform energy transactions.
